Remote Access to your Access Application

Run your Microsoft Access Database from any location on any machine.

With EQL OnWeb you are able to synchronize your Access application with multiple users and machines. The EQL plugin first activates and synchronizes your Access application with the OnWeb server. This essentially converts the Access application to EQL proprietary format (export) and sends the files (push) to the OnWeb server.

OnWeb then merges these EQL-formatted files with any existing files on the server and then sends the resulting merged files to your local application (pull).

Finally, the EQL plugin will reassemble your local Access application with the new EQL-formatted files that were sent from the server (import).

These are the four stages that take place to synchronize your application with the OnWeb server. For more in-depth details of this four stage process see how OnWeb works part 1and part 2.

Once synchronized, OnWeb is able to use the EQL-formatted files to assemble its own version of the Access application. This is then served to users inside a web browser, allowing you to access your application from a remote machine.

When accessing your Access application via OnWeb you are running what is called an OnWeb session. At the beginning of the session the application loads up with the latest data. Once you close the session, OnWeb takes your changes and merges them with the files on the server. The resulting files become the latest version of data.

All future OnWeb sessions will use this data and all future synchronizations with Microsoft Access will pull in these changes.

The end result is a web version of your Access application that is in sync with your local Access application. The web version can be used remotely from any computer with an internet connection and web browser.
